We were helped by many people and organisations to purchase The Anglers Rest for the community. They are listed on the Bamford Community Society website here.
Since purchasing the Anglers Rest, we have been fortunate in having been helped to develop the building and business, with grant funding from a number of sources, including:
Our pub refurbishment was part funded by the LEADER project, funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, via Derbyshire County Council and part funded through a share offer, supported by the Booster Programme, funded by Power to Change and run by the Community Shares Unit.
The Big Lottery Awards for All programme helped to make the outdoor seating area more accessible by levelling the area and getting rid of the steps and crazy paving.
Our solar panels were funded by the M&S Community Energy Fund.
Bamford Community Society and Bamford District History Society were jointly supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to research the history of the Anglers Rest.
An award of £120,000 grant from Power to Change funded the replacement of the main roof, including insulation, and replacement of 4 windows together with a business plan for further business developments.
The Anglers Rest were able to install bike racks, pump and tool station as a result of a Cycle Friendly Places grant funded by the Department of Transport, via the Peak District National Park
